NDCS prepares ‘Glam’ offensive

The National Deaf Children’s Society (NDCS) is poised to launch a PR offensive on trade sector magazines in a bid to raise awareness of its ‘Glam and Sparkle Day’ fundraising campaign.

Part of NDCS’s Diamond Fundraising Appeal, the campaign is asking firms in every industry in Britain to ‘ditch their dull work outfits for a good cause’ and dress up in glamorous outfits for a day.

Each employee that takes part in the campaign, which runs until the NDCS’s 60th anniversary on 15 December, will be asked to donate £1 to the charity.

Accountancy, catering, cosmetics and nursing press are among the trade media being targeted.

‘PR people are very glamorous so they probably don’t need to take part – but they can always send us £1 anyway,’ said NDCS public relations manager Sarah Brown.
