Unilever media boss set to retire

Unilever has scrapped its head of corporate media relations post following incumbent Mike Haines’s decision to take early retirement.

Haines, who has worked for Unilever for 22 years, is to take early retirement at the end of June.

The Anglo-Dutch consumer goods firm is on the hunt for a replacement – but at a lower level – for a role in its London office’s three-strong press team.

The firm, which counts products such as Domestos and Dove soap among its raft of consumer brands, is hiring a media relations manager.

The new recruit will work alongside corporate media relations manager Trevor Gorin and will report to head of corporate relations Mandy Cormack.
