Celebrities drive TGC’s poker push

Online gambling operator The Gaming Club has lined up Matt Damon, Ben Affleck and Jodie Kidd to promote its £700,000 two-year sponsorship of the World Poker Championships, to be held in June.

The South African operator has appointed its first UK PR agency, Trimedia Communications, for a three-month media relations push targeting national media and men’s lifestyle titles around the 23 to 27 June championships. Trimedia is in negotiations with more celebrtities to drive the campaign.

TGC will also host a journalists’ tournament on the eve of the championships, about which freelance Tim Dowling will create an online diary.
