O’Connor to leave IPR for Eloqui role

The Institute of Public Relations is to launch a hunt for a public affairs head following Nigel O’Connor’s decision to quit the post.

O’Connor, who joined the IPR four years ago, is leaving to join Eloqui Public Relations, the agency headed by IPR president-elect Chris Genasi.

During his time at the IPR, O’Connor has led a number of projects, including the Department of Trade and Industry’s most recent major study into the PR industry, and the development of the Planning, Research and Evaluation Toolkit series.

O’Connor, who joins Eloqui as an account director, said a priority for his successor was likely to include lobbying over the effect on internal communications from the EU’s information and consultation directive.
