J&J MSD plans UK Athletics PR drive

Healthcare specialist Johnson & Johnson MSD Consumer Pharmaceuticals is planning a raft of PR activity to promote its sponsorship of UK Athletics.

J&J MSD’s sponsorship PR activity is to promote its Daktarin treatment for athlete’s foot and aims to encourage participation in athletics at all levels.

Spink Consumer Relations, which has promoted Daktarin for the past nine years, will handle PR for the sponsorship including media relations tactics that aim to boost the brand’s profile in both sports and non-sports media. Spink MD Jo Spink said the PR activity would be supported by dermatologists and sports podiatrists.

J&J MSD has been associated with UK Athletics since May last year, but a fresh deal was struck at the end of last month.
