Public Image wins CAM remit for Europe

Chinese fund management and corporate turnaround specialist China Asset Management (CAM) has hired the Public Image Group to handle a global investor relations programme.

Public Image founder Richard Morris is leading the account and is charged with raising the profile of CAM in the UK and Europe. The agency is on a one-year rolling contract worth £66,000 per annum.

CAM has aggressive expansion plans and claims it will be one of the ten largest asset management firms in the UK in five years.

In September 2001, CAM had a total asset value of £614m. Morris reports to CAM chief financial officer and general manager Hui Yong Kwok.

CAM was founded in 1998 and is one of China’s oldest asset management firms. It is registered with the China Securities Regulatory Commission.

The company manages several closed-end funds and has significant investments in property, IT and ‘specific situations’. The latter are companies in financial difficulties or administration.
