Diary: Hit or Miss... Tracey Morris

That the first British woman to finish Sunday's London Marathon was an optician from Leeds made a change from Paula Radcliffe.

But the fact Dollond & Aitchison staffer Tracey Morris had finished three minutes inside the qualifying time for the Olympics - and will now line up alongside world-record holder Radcliffe and Liz Yelling in Greece this August - triggered a media frenzy. The manager at the opticians where Morris works said: 'She'll need UV protection for her eyes in the sun out there, so I'm sure we'll organise her some sunglasses.' She'll have to get used to the media glare, too, of course.
