Called The Genesis Group, the teenagers will learn to drive to an advanced standard through the Institute of Advanced Motorists and will learn about all aspects of road safety.
A Warrington Council spokesman said: ‘From there, they will be able to guide other young people on key safety aspects.’
The team will act as a focus group to the council and help translate, plan and deliver messages to teenagers through different activities such as community action, doorstep talks, contacting and attending open days and events.
It is hoped the 16 to 18-year-olds will work on the project for at least two years.
