York campaign to deter litterbugs

York City Council has drafted in local agency TaylorSyms to help manage its York Pride campaign, which warns pedestrians of new fines for litter bugs.

The £50 fines were introduced this week, with the campaign reminding people of the council’s drive to keep the city’s streets clean.

The campaign includes media relations, cinema advertising, bus advertising, posters in retail and food outlets and ads in the local media.

The campaign will run for four weeks and was put into place by the newly elected Liberal Democrat council.
