Henman is to join Cubitt’s insurance practice next month, bringing with him specialist US insurer Markel Insurance Company.
Henman left Edelman in January and has been working independently on the Markel account, which is said to be worth about £100,000.
Markel develops and underwrites niche insurance products, particularly in the property, casualty, accident, health, farm and mortality fields.
Henman joined Edelman in 2001 from Grandfield where he was a founding director (PRWeek, 9 February 2001). Corporate head Stephen Benzike became Edelman’s first dedicated London financial head and is still with the firm.
While at Edelman, Henman also worked with insurer Royal & Sun Alliance and insurance broker Willis.
He handled PR for Railtrack administrators Ernst & Young in 2001 (PRWeek, 19 October 2001).
Henman will be a Cubitt director and will work with insurance practice head Ross Gow, reporting to MD Simon Brocklebank-Fowler.
Earlier this month, Cubitt hired Saracen Investment Management analyst Ramona Tipnis in anticipation of the departure of head of IR Stephen Scott (PRWeek, 9 April).
