Opinion: My Best Hire - Adam Freeland

Damian Mould, Slice founding partner, on 'keen as mustard' Adam Freeland.

'I hired Adam in 1994 as a junior press officer - he was keen as mustard, innovative and passionate about dance music.

'His first task was to take dance artists such as Pete Tong and Paul Oakenfold and bust them into the mainstream tabloids, which at the time didn't know the artists or really like the genre. The funniest thing he executed was a faked alien landing in Bournemouth at 3am for an artist launch.

'We filmed the police watching it go on - they subsequently denied seeing anything to the media. The tape was then released to news stations, together with the artist's track, and we hit the jackpot with the Six O'Clock News.'

Adam left in 1997 and is now DJing. His album is being played on Radio 1 and he has just finished remixing Kelis.
