APPOINTMENT: ProfitCenter Software has appointed George Zouvelos to head of corporate communications. Zouvelos has represented companies such as Deloitte & Touche and The National Venture Capital Association. ProfitCenter produces web-based software for businesses.
EXPANSION: Edelman has expanded its global network into the Middle East by signing an affiliate agreement with ASDA’A Public Relations which boasts ten offices. ASDA’A recently ended its ten-year affiliate relationship with Burson-Marsteller. Its offices include Syria, Qatar, and Lebanon, and has headquarters in Dubai.
PITCH: German condom manufacturer Condomi AG has heard pitches from four agencies vying for its PR account. Weber Shandwick, Henry’s House, Lawson Dodd and Shilland have pitched to position the brand as a more sophisticated choice.
CSR: Well over half of listed companies feel that they cannot provide enough information for surveys and reporting mechanisms that measure CSR, according to a survey commissioned by the London Stock Exchange and the UK Social Investment Forum. Only 35 per cent of the firms interviewed said they were happy that they could provide enough information for these surveys.
AGENCY RESIGNATION: Cheltenham-based Target Public Relations has a new senior management team after Sheena Brand resigned as managing director, having led the business for eight years, to set up her own company. Andrew Smith has been appointed head of public relations, and Sharon Kerby as deputy head of public relations. Both were previously senior account directors.
