Quinlan PR hire to aid Savoy bid

Quinlan Private, the Irish venture capital group lead by chairman Derek Quinlan, has drafted in Powerscourt to handle financial comms around its £750m agreed takeover of The Savoy hotels group.

Powerscourt founder Rory Godson and co-founder John Murray are advising Quinlan on UK and international media around the acquisition of Savoy from private investment bank The Blackstone Group and commercial property investor Colony Capital.

Fleishman-Hillard Saunders director of corporate and financial affairs James Morrissey is advising Quinlan on relations with the Irish media.

Bell Pottinger Corporate & Financial is The Savoy Group’s retained PR adviser. Bell Pottinger managing director Anne-Marie Wilkinson is leading the account.

The Savoy Group was acquired by Blackstone and Colony in 1998 for £520m and comprises four of London’s most prestigious hotels: The Berkeley, Claridges, The Connaught and The Savoy. The Savoy Group also owns Simpson’s in the Strand.
