An ongoing PR campaign with a budget in excess of £250,000 will aim to boost awareness of Medicsight’s computer-assisted diagnosis software in the UK, US, Continental Europe, Japan, China and the Middle East.
Medicsight is developing software that uses artificial intelligence to analyse computed tomography (CT), which scans ‘faster and more accurately than ever before’, meaning conditions such as lung cancer, colon cancer and coronary heart disease could be diagnosed earlier than previously thought possible.
Its software enables radiologists to better identify suspect anatomy by creating 3D models from the information provided by 2D CT scan images.
Medicom will handle medical and corporate media relations, ‘direct comms with the medical profession’ and ‘initiatives to create interest from potential marketing partners’, according to MD Martin Ellis.
The agency’s appointment follows work for Medicsight’s clinical trial programme last year.
Ellis heads the account team although associate directors Nicola Brett and Sarah Merritt will handle work on a day-to-day basis.
