WS is first PR firm for Media Trust

Weber Shandwick has become the first PR consultancy to become a member of media industry charity Media Trust.

The charity, which includes the BBC, BSkyB, Channel 4 and Guardian Media Group, resources media and comms professionals to work for the voluntary sector on a pro bono basis.

Media Trust chief executive Caroline Diehl said: ‘Over the years, Media Trust has found that the PR industry is really desperately what the charity and voluntary sector needs and wants. We’re hoping WS will be the first of many PR agencies to become members.’

WS has agreed to make a donation of £50,000 in pro bono work, which may include hosting seminars, co-ordination and other training work in the voluntary sector.
