Eli Lilly experts to brief journalists

INDIANAPOLIS: Global drugs giant Eli Lilly was this week set to launch its first installment of a monthly initiative aimed at better engagement with journalists.

The NewsMaker Forum will bring experts from inside and outside the company to talk on health-related topics.

The first programme, on Multi-Drug Resistant Tuberculosis, was due to take place on Wednesday (24 March) – World TB Day.

Set to take part were Eli Lilly’s Dr Gail Cassell, Dr Paul Farmer of Partners in Health and Harvard Medical School, and Dr Maria Freire from the Global Alliance for TB Drug Development.

Eli Lilly said the launch of the Forum was in response to the recent increase in coverage of healthcare-related issues, with consumers turning to the media to educate themselves.
