CGE&Y marketing director Fiona Carr said the group had held informal discussions to obtain credentials from at least seven agencies over the past two weeks, and would meet ‘a couple’ more over the next two weeks before a likely formal pitch.
The brief is expected to be awarded in the next few weeks. The agency selected will handle the company’s corporate reputation, building strong relations with the national and business trade press, and communicating its new brand.
Under the terms of the company’s merger with Cap Gemini four years ago, it must cease to include the name Ernst & Young from 20 May. So far sources at the company have refused to reveal the new name.
CGE&Y currently uses icas PR to manage its media relations. ‘We are extremely happy with the work they are producing,’ said Carr. ‘We want to make sure, moving forward, that we have the best suppliers right across the board.’
‘This is a tremendously exciting time,’ she added.
‘The agency we select will be charged with building a strong reputation in the marketplace and working with ourselves to build strong relations with the media.’
