The two-year contract involves promoting the authority’s profile, media relations, and helping to deliver its consultation strategy.
The authority has warned that it manages varying levels of media enquiries. Up to 50 press releases will be required per year as well as attendance at around 30 formal member meetings, plus press conferences when required. The deadline for tenders is 4 May.
The authority – which is not a police force – is an independent body responsible for overseeing local policing. It appoints the chief constable and assistant chief constable and is the disciplinary authority for the ranks.
