BAA fills Stansted comms position

BAA has appointed former PPS Public Affairs director Mark Pendlington as director of comms for Stansted Airport after easyJet corporate affairs chief Toby Nicol’s surprise change of heart on his decision to take the job.

Nicol had been set to take up the Stansted position but turned the post down for a beefed-up PR role at easyJet (PRWeek, 5 March).

‘Mark is now the strongest candidate for the job and has the great advantage that he lives in the area and therefore has a good understanding of the issues,’ said BAA corporate comms director Duncan Bonfield.

Pendlington has been working as a freelance PR consultant since leaving the Country Land & Business Association, where he was chief executive until late last year.
