Burger King boss takes EMRA chair

The European Modern Restaurant Association (EMRA) has installed Burger King International comms director Kai Boschmann as chairperson.

Boschmann takes over Emra’s stewardship on a two-year term as the organisation’s members come under increasing pressure from policy makers for their part in fuelling the obesity problem.

She takes over from former Quick Restaurants PR chief Roland Higgins, who has moved aside to the newly created role of secretary general.

‘With the increasing legislative pressure pertaining to our industry, 2004 is a pivotal year for us,’ said Boschmann. ‘I want to clearly communicate what we can do in being part of the solution and make a positive contribution rather than being seen as a problem’.
