Kane managing director Robert Fedder said he had drawn up a list of ‘a couple of agencies we knew we wanted to talk to, including people we’ve worked with in the past’.
He added that although he had not been satisfied with the results of its PR activity, this was not necessarily the fault of the agency.
Kane is inviting agencies to submit ideas, said Fedder, and will move into formal discussions ‘at the back end of March’.
Fedder said there is not a specific brief and agencies are asked to respond to Kane’s marketing objectives. He said he had been forced to reassess the list of agencies after receiving several imaginative submissions.
According to Fedder, the mobile communications sector demands innovations, but in the past Kane has failed to take full advantage of several newsworthy developments with effective PR.
