IPR sets member growth strategy

The Institute of Public Relations (IPR) has announced a major drive to double income and enlarge its membership by 40 per cent to bolster its influence in the industry.

The body has distributed a strategy review setting out aims to increase membership to 11,000 over the next four years. It also proposes that its continuous professional development (CPD) training be made compulsory for all members within a decade.

‘We want to make membership of IPR increasingly essential,’ said deputy director Ann Mealor.

Other objectives include strengthening the Global Alliance, increasing the ethnic diversity of membership and achieving a Royal Charter.

Member comments are invited on the review, available online at www.ipr.org.uk/e-letter/strategy04.htm.
