Burrell promoted within Edelman

Edelman has promoted European head of public affairs Michael Burrell to vice-chairman, Europe, as it looks to strengthen its offering to global companies on corporate reputation management.

Burrell will now report to European president and chief executive David Brain, who said: ‘We see Brussels as a huge growth market and we have to have a strong presence there.’

The four-strong European team would now be better geared for big corporate pitches, said Brain. The agency lost out to Weber Shandwick in a two-way battle for Unilever’s global corporate account last week (PRWeek, 13 February).
