Moscow seeks Olympic bid PR

Moscow 2012 is on the hunt for a PR agency to provide global media relations support for its Olympic bid and has employed Octagon-owned bid consultancy Helios Partners to run a pitch next month.

The remit covers areas outside Russia as International Olympic Committee rules prohibit proactive publicity by shortlisted countries outside their home country for six months after the shortlist is announced on 18 May.

The successful agency’s main role will be to manage response to media enquiries, as well as plan for pro-active communications after the promotional ban ends on 15 November when candidature files are complete.

The other cities competing are Havana, Istanbul, New York, Leipzig, London, Madrid, Paris and Rio de Janeiro. The 2012 host will be announced in July 2005.
