WRAP unveils its agency line-up

The Waste and Resources Action Programme (Wrap) has announced which four agencies will handle which aspects of its PR campaign work going forward.

Proteus PR will promote recycled building materials, plastic and glass, while Ptarmigan Consultants is staging WRAP’s presence at next month’s Ideal Home Show, which will feature a kitchen made entirely out of recycled products – while it is currently not possible to purchase, the company wants to demonstrate what could exist if there was demand.

BCLO will manage a regional celebrity driven ad, PR and marketing campaign to promote home composting. Local authorities will be making home composting bins available and there will be an information line for people who want to know more about the subject.

Corporate Culture will be working on a national consumer recycling campaign. WRAP head of comms Julie Parry said: ‘It is a call to action for consumers to recycle. It is about encouraging people to buy smarter and buy recycled goods.’ The campaigns will launch in June.

It has appointed Proteus PR, Ptarmigan Consultants, BCLO, and Corporate Culture.

Wrap recently hired National Grid Transco’s PR chief Gareth Lloyd as head of comms.
