DIARY: Harverson denies free flat rumours

He's less than a week into his new job of spinning some positive press for the future monarch, but the tabloids are already having a pop at Prince Charles's new spin doctor, Paddy Harverson.

London's Evening Standard couldn't resist pointing out the fact Harverson has moved into the plush environs of Kensington Palace, having just moved out of his city-centre flat in the heart of Manchester.

Harverson was forced by the paper to deny the 'small flat' was being provided on a 'grace-and-favour' basis and to clarify that, indeed, he was paying rent.

Given the mauling Manchester United continue to receive in the press as a result of the public feud between manager Alex Ferguson and the club's two biggest shareholders, it's clearly a case of out of the frying pan and into the fire for the former Financial Times hack.
