Outside wins Hit 40 UK campaign

Hit 40 UK, a commercial rival to BBC Radio 1’s pop-chart rundown, has appointed The Outside Organisation as it launches a programme of consumer PR activity.

Outside scooped the consumer PR and music trade PR remit after a pitch against Borkowski PR and three-year incumbent TriggerFish.

Hit 40 UK managing director Rob Corlett said the PR review had been triggered as part of its plan to ‘significantly increase’ its marketing during 2004.

Outside’s fees are understood to be in the region of £60,000, a budget that would be more than twice as large as Hit 40’s previous annual PR spend.

Hit 40 UK is owned by Capital Radio, GWR, Chrysalis and Scottish Radio Holdings and was formerly called the Pepsi Chart.
