Filofax comms is taken in-house

Filofax has dropped Shine Communications and taken all PR in-house as the accessories maker cuts costs.

Filofax marketing manager Sharon Golbey said the cost of retaining an external agency had been a factor. She said the firm wanted ‘to have more resources we can dedicate five days a week to communication of our brand’.

PR for Filofax will now be handled by Matt Watson, who joined Filofax from Red Rooster last month.

Shine has worked for Filofax since 2002, when the firm was appointed to oversee a major product relaunch (PRWeek, 5April 2002).
