Financial services firms dominate reputation list

Financial services companies dominate this week’s Reputation Monitor, taking five of the top ten slots.

Royal Bank of Scotland, Intelligent Finance, Morgan Stanley, Legal & General and Egg all feature.

News that the Royal Bank of Scotland would report big profits made it the highest-ranking financial services company in the table.

Tesco has regained top spot after making a £110m shares payout to staff. That and a bid to undercut Interflora in time for Valentine’s Day increased its positive coverage in the press.

Vodafone, on the verge of bidding for AT&T, had a good week. Rival mmO2 also did well after it announced a healthy subscriber forecast.

Troubled Ryanair remains at the bottom of the table with a National News Index score of -271.8 after losing its EU subsidy battle. Rival low-cost airline easyJet made it into the top five after reporting a 12 per cent rise in January passengers numbers.
