Macquarie drafts in FD for City brief

Macquarie Bank, the Australian investment bank and financial services group, has hired Financial Dynamics to front a financial PR push to expand the company’s international shareholder base.

FD head of investor relations Sarah Marsland is leading the account. It will concentrate on the presentation of the group to investors in Europe and the US.

In November last year Macquarie announced a £7m profit after tax for the half year to September 30, 2003. The result was underpinned by a strong rise in international income, particularly from its affiliated entities in North America.

Macquarie Bank is listed on the Australian Stock Exchange and employs more than 4,700 people in 18 countries. The group is divided into six main sub-groups: investment banking, equity markets, treasury and commodities, banking and property, fund management and financial services. The fund management group manages more than £10.4bn.

In Europe Macquarie operates out of Vienna, Frankfurt, Munich, Dublin, Geneva and London.
