FD has hired former Fleishman-Hillard senior vice-president of public affairs Stan Collender as managing director of the office.
FD has been seeking a better foothold in the US since a management buyout in July ended its ties with Cordiant.
‘We want to build a public affairs practice in Washington that can be replicated across the US,’ said Declan Kelly, president and chief executive of FD’s US operations. FD intends to focus on comms strategy and has no plans to offer government relations services.
‘We have talked to several lobbying firms we plan to partner with,’ said Kelly.
