Welsh Assembly broadband drive

The Welsh Assembly has launched a campaign to encourage people in Wales to sign up to faster broadband internet connections and attract investment from the broadband supplier industry.

Michael Eaton, director of the Assembly’s Broadband Wales programme said the campaign aims to educate people in Wales about the advantages of broadband. The Assembly has appointed Firefly Communications to run PR, taking advantage of its contacts in the broadband supplier market.

Around 71 per cent of the Welsh population have access to broadband.

The campaign will also highlight the subsidies that the Assembly is offering to encourage broadband suppliers to invest in the technology in Wales.
