Goldsmiths set to choose agency

Jewellery retailer Goldsmiths is reviewing its consumer PR agency support, with a hire looming within one month.

Goldsmiths had drawn up a shortlist of two undisclosed agencies to scrap it out for the contract, which will involve mainly consumer PR, said deputy MD Jim West.

West said the review was triggered by the closure of Goldsmiths’s former PR agency, Manchester-based Clarity Communications.

Goldsmiths, which opened a store in Birmingham’s revamped Bullring last year, plans to open a further ten stores to augment its existing 166 during the year ahead.

West said future PR strategy would involve the promotion of the results of an ongoing ‘corporate identity’ and rebranding exercise.
