Eperon, who quit Boots last July, started Eperon Consulting this week. The firm is giving strategic advice to educational trust The Greycoat Foundation as a launch client. It is also advising marketing services group GoodCorporation.
Eperon said that his Leicestershire-based firm would look to attract clients from outside London, but would focus mainly on the reputations of company executives with their workers, customers and the media.
‘The pressures on chief executives in terms of regulation are growing,’ said Eperon. ‘It is sometimes difficult to know where to set priorities, so senior executives will need help with this work.’
He added that there were no plans to increase staff levels at Eperon Consulting in the immediate future.
Eperon was at Boots for 12 years before resigning his post last year during a restructure of the retailer’s PR department (PRWeek, 10 July 2003).
In addition to leaving his role at Boots, Eperon has also resigned from his
position as deputy chairman of The British Retail Consortium and non-executive director of Business in the Community.
