Telefonica Moviles to sponsor mummy excavation

Madrid: Telefonica Moviles, the mobile arm of Spanish telecoms multinational Telefonica is to sponsor the third 'Djehuty' Egyptian-mummy excavation project this winter in Luxor, Egypt.

A Spanish-Egyptian team led by archaeologist Jose Manuel Galan will dig to uncover the tombs of Djehuty and Hery, two government officials who worked for the Pharaoh Queen Hatsheput's regin between 1450-1500 BC.

Telefonical Moviles will use the project to promote its brand, using the project's web site and various events. A six-strong team will handle the project under the supervision of in-house communications chief Juan Jose Berganza.
