CSR body lobbies for good practice

Danone head of CSR Bernard Giraud is to spearhead a new campaign to get European businesses to implement corporate social responsibility in the workplace.

Giraud, the French food company’s director of sustainable development and social responsibility, this month takes up the newly created role of executive director at lobbying group CSR Europe.

The focus this year will move from raising awareness to persuading companies to follow good CSR practice at all levels of the organisation.

The body elected 15 directors to its board last month, including Dow Jones Europe director of EU government affairs and public policy Martina Bianchini, Microsoft EMEA director of community affairs and CSR Elena Bonfiglioli, and Levi Straus Europe vice president of corporate affairs Alan Christie.
