Wedding Ideas, published by start-up outfit Giraffe Media, will compete with the National Magazine Company's 62,700-selling You & Your Wedding and IPC's Wedding & Home, which has a circulation of 55,400.
Wedding Ideas will have a print run of 80,000 for the first issue. Editor of the 212-page, handbag-sized title is Rachel Harries, ex-editor of Origin Publishing's Hair Ideas.
Giraffe MD Kevin Whitchurch launched football magazine FourFourTwo in the UK in 1994. He said: 'The title will have a practical approach to solving problems, from the shoes and cake to the honeymoon. We are looking for things such as new products, venues and dresses.
'We want everything to lead readers on to helpline numbers and web addresses.'
Travel will be an important part of the editorial offering, since much of the average £16,000 wedding spend goes on the honeymoon, he added.
At £2.95, the new magazine is £1 cheaper than its rivals and the launch is timed to coincide with the market's annual peak.
