Licensing by Design, which owns all the rights to Bagpuss, has hired MCC International to promote the Bagpuss franchise to manufacturers and retailers through a series of events from New Year’s Day.
The campaign will target retro websites, hobby magazines such as Quick Cross Stitch and pre-school magazines such as Sparkle to raise awareness of Bagpuss among children. MCC hopes to place an article with BBC Online for the first week of January.
MCC is also targeting students and is in negotiations with School Disco to stage a party in Leicester Square on 13 February, the day after the TV character’s birthday.
MCC account director Paul Wooding heads the account and reports to Licensing By Design founder Fran Huxley.
