Medialink appoints Hadfield to MD role

Broadcast services consultancy Medialink Worldwide has hired former BBC producer Lucy Hadfield as MD of its international operations.

The appointment of Hadfield follows the departure of Medialink executive vice president Ivan Purdie in June this year. Medialink group marketing manager Matt Burgess said Purdie had left the company in order to ‘pursue other interests’.

Purdie was responsible for broadcast operations in both the US and internationally (PRWeek, 27 April 2001).

While Hadfield assumes the international portion of his remit, responsibility for Medialink’s US broadcast services has fallen to Victor Lee, who was promoted in June to president of US broadcast services.

Hadfield previously worked as head of business development at events agency Crown Business Communications. She has also worked for Radio Television Hong Kong and the BBC World Service as a producer and presenter.

The appointment coincides with the arrival of Lexis PR founder and former MD Bill Jones as non-executive vice chairman of the company.
