The deal creates a PR team of seven within an agency of 44, with five of the PR staff arriving from Hyde Burnett. The enlarged firm will trade under the name Cicero Marketing and Communications.
Details of the company’s operating structure are still being finalised, but it is anticipated that Cicero head of PR Megan Codling and her counterpart at Hyde Burnett, Chris Nelson, will jointly lead the PR team.
Codling said the acquisition would improve the breadth of the agency’s offering. ‘Hyde Burnett brings with it an international presence as it operates on a pan-European basis for all of its clients through multilingual staff,’ she said.
PR clients of Cicero include Astraeus Airlines and PremierLine Insurance, while Hyde Burnett’s customers include Fortune 500-listed engineering company Tyco.
