DIARY: Green & Black's: not entirely black and white

The PR industry is awash with husband-and-wife client/agency link-ups, but food-and-drink specialist Phipps PR provides a mightily impressive case study in this regard, it emerged this week.

Phipps MD Nicky Forrest, is the wife of Nick Beart, finance director of chocolate firm Green & Black's, one of her agency's clients.

Nothing amazing about that, you will rightly think, but - quite remarkably - agency co-founder and shareholder Miranda Page Wood is wife to the organic choccy firm's CEO William Kendal.

Impressive, but there's more. Before setting up Green & Black's, Beart and Kendal were both minor shareholders in New Covent Garden Soup Company - which formerly retained none other than Phipps as its consumer PR firm.

Forrest is keen to stress that neither her nor Page Wood's other half has 'responsibility for marketing' - but then she would say that, wouldn't she?
