An investigation by the Institut für Grundlagenforschung on behalf of the Public Relations Verband Austria (PRVA) and the Fachverband für Werbung und Marktkommunikation has revealed the size of Austria's PR market.
Their findings show that it is worth around 800 million Euros per annum, with a quarter of this is from orders to agencies, while PR work to the value of 600 million Euros is handled internally by firms, institutions and organisations.
The Institute questioned 800 companies, public institutions and non-profit organisations. For companies with between 30 and 50 employees, the annual PR budget was around 80,000 Euros on average, while for companies with more than 500 employees, the average was around 432,000 Euros. The PR budgets for NGOs were valued at around 85,000 Euros each year.
