DIARY: Fashion PROs feel free to assault invited hacks

One (anonymous) fashion trade magazine features writer has contacted PRWeek to call for a curtailment to what she describes as 'an email bombardment from PR bunnies', plugging 2004 spring-summer fashion collection preview events.

With event invites delayed by the postal strike, PROs have been firing off last-minute email invites, it seems, with our hack lamenting: 'It's been extra bad this year.'

When asked what advice she would give PROs, the hack replies, without hesitation: 'Give us better freebies!'

Selfridges has given the best freebie so far this season, according to the fashionista.

Apparently, a goodie bag including Stella McCartney sunglasses and 'other really expensive stuff' meant her attendance was practically assured at this week's launch event for Selfridges 'Superbrands' room.
