Sage investor relations manager Phil Branston said in a statement said the firm had appointed Tulchan Communications as its financial PR adviser following a review, but added that Sage maintained ‘a good relationship’ with FD.
Branston refused to comment about the details of Tulchan’s appointment, the account brief or whether FD had been invited to pitch for the business.
Tulchan consultants Julie Foster and Kirstie Hamilton are leading the PR account for the firm, which makes and sells accountancy software.
Last month Sage co-founder Graham Wylie sold 65.15 million shares in the company, thereby reducing his stake to around three per cent. The shares were worth £116 m at the time.
