H&K secured the account in a pitch against Lewis, Bite Communications and Band & Brown Communications, the incumbent agency on B2B and non-broadband product PR.
H&K already held the account for the firm’s existing broadband products.
H&K director Amanda Purdey is leading the account, which is believed to be worth in excess of £750,000 a year. Purdey will report to BT Wholesale head of internal comms Deborah Vawer.
BT Wholesale retains Pirate PR as its corporate media relations agency. This account was not up for pitch.
In July BT announced it was going to expand broadband coverage to UK villages and market towns by expanding its registration scheme.
Under the plan, local communities can register how many broadband users will need to use the service before the company comes to install the equipment.
