DIARY: Beautiful people gather to hear ungrateful It Girl

Elizabeth Hindmarch PR cleaned up at last week's inaugural Pure Beauty Awards at The Dorchester.

Major players from the beauty sector gathered in the Park Lane hotel's ballroom to celebrate all that's wholesome in the beauty world.

The Windsor-based PR shop picked up the gong for 'best beauty trade PR team', while its heavily pregnant account handler, Sarah Sawrey-Cookson, won the prestigious 'best beauty trade PR representative' for her work on Swallowfield.

The ubiquitous Tara Palmer-Tomkinson was on hand to chivvy proceedings along, though her ungrateful reference to the speech that had been written for her had some revellers wincing.

There were freebies galore, too, and PRWeek's representative was thrilled to win the coveted raffle prize of a pair of tickets to the forthcoming Radiohead gig at Earl's Court. Most chipper of all, however were the 300 guests, who were all made-up (geddit?) at the generous size of the going home goody-bag.
