Schering-Plough makes fourth hire from Pharmacia

KENILWORTH, NJ: Pharmaceuticals giant Schering-Plough has hired Mary-Frances Faraji as vice-president of global product communications and advocacy development.

Faraji formerly led PR efforts for Pfizer on an interim basis, following the company’s merger with Pharmacia earlier this year.

Faraji is the fourth senior addition to Schering’s communications department to come from Pharmacia, where she served as senior director of PR and advocacy development, prior to taking on the five-month post at Pfizer.

She joins ex-Pharmacia colleagues Ellen Geisel, head of Schering’s allergy franchise; Carrie Cox, executive vice-president and president of global pharmaceuticals; and group V-P of global communications Jeff Winton.

Faraji will report to Winton in the post, created as Schering bids to establish what Faraji called ‘a dedicated, non-advertising communications product group.’
