The pitch could spell the end of the firm’s relationship with Exposure Promotions, which has handled its UK consumer PR and events for more than five years.
Quiksilver Europe head of marketing Phil Jarrett said it was a ‘normal statutory review’ and insisted he was ‘very satisfied’ with Exposure’s performance. The aim, he said, was ‘to explore the market’.
The UK is US-headquartered Quiksilver’s second-largest European market
after France. Jarrett said:
‘Export markets outside France are becoming increasingly important to us.’
It is understood that Jarrett is close to drawing up a shortlist of agencies, following the composition of an initial longlist by AAR.
Jarrett said it was the first ‘formal review’ he had undertaken of Exposure in five years, although the agency has been working on a year-to-year contract.
