Agencies known to be competing for the contract include incumbent APCO Asia – whose contract ends at the end of October – Burson-Marsteller, Citigate, Professional Public Relations and Weber Shandwick.
InvestHK director-general of investment promotion Mike Rowse has outlined a remit expanded beyond the marketing and PR fulfilled by APCO. Rowse said: ‘InvestHK plans to strengthen its capability in marketing, PR, event management, market research, knowledge management and IT.’
InvestHK, set up in July 2000, kicked off its agency search process in June. The account will require the secondment of an in-house agency team to work exclusively for InvestHK, said Rowse.
