In Press wins SAS account

SAS Brasil, the Brazilian division of the US software and consulting company, has hired In Press Porter Novelli.

In Press won the work on the basis of its technology experience, according to its technology unit director Diva Goncalves, who will head the new account. The agency already works for IBM and Qualcomm.

In Press will provide press relations and media training services. Goncalves will work with a team of two, based in Sao Paulo. The team will report to SAS communications manager Andrea Szyfer and marketing director Maria Cecilia Giacaglia.

SAS is headquartered in North Carolina, and has around 10,000 employees across 100 offices in 50 countries. It reported overall revenue of $1.8 billion in 2002 and claims to be the world's largest privately held software company. It has 80 employees in Brazil based in Rio, Sao Paulo and Brasilia.
